3 Natural Remedies For Panic Attack

I was interested in natural remedies rather than benzodiazepines. So I was trying to find natural remedies for controlling my panic attacks.

After reading lot of books (example: Panic Away, How To Stop Your Anxiety Now!) and doing intense research on the internet, I discovered 3 most useful natural remedies for panic attacks.

Here they are… (I follow them even now)

1. Meditation

After taking meditation classes for a month, I've had sufficient progress in my healing. Since then I've never stopped it.

Through meditation, I've learnt how to experience sense of absolute peace. Now I've understood what is true 'well-being'.

I believe prayer itself can be the most powerful meditation (for many).

Now I'm managing my life issues successfully without worrying about my panic disorder.

2. Pranayama (Proper Breathing)

Rapid shallow breathing causes hyperventilation and panic attack. This is why we feel dizziness, palpitations, chest pain and gasping for breath.

Proper breathing restores oxigen levels and calms the nervous system. So I've learned how to breath abdominally. If you look at children (when they are asleep), you'll understand this quickly and easily. Because children have natural abdominal breath.

I take deep breath slowly many times if I feel stressful or anxious. And I frequently focus my attention on my rhythm of breathing. This helps wonderfully in curing panic attack.

3. Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

This therapy is also very important alternative therapy. But if you observe yourself carefully, you don't need a therapist. However, Mastery of  "Your Anxiety and Panic: Workbook" by Dr. David Barlow and Dr. Michelle Craske helps you great.

I carefully notice my 'irrational ideas'. Because they lead to illogical thinking and emotional disturbances. I try to avoid interpreting events/situations in a negative way. Looking at the positive side helps us avoid anxiety and panic attack.

So if you work dedicatedly on regular basis, these natural remedies will help you over come the problem easily. Surely you'll lead a normal life!
