How To Prevent And Manage Your Panic Attacks?
I learned so many things during my panic attack episode. So now I can tell you how to prevent panic attacks.
Know the root cause. Then it'd be very easy to prevent the panic attack. If you don't know the root cause, never avoid situations or places where you experience a panic attack.
You've to pass through the situation or place to let go off the panic attack. I'll give you a general example: how do you over come if you have stage fright? Simple, by facing the situation until you feel comfortable.
In such situations, turn your concentration onto your breathing. Breath very slowly and deeply.
Whenever you sense you are going to have a panic attack, sit down or lay down comfortably (if possible). And then, close your eyes, get your focus onto your breathing rhythm and count 1 in hale (in hale slowly) and 1 exhale (exhale slowly). Count like this up to 25 or 30.
Learn Jacobson relaxation technique and meditation. Because these help you relax every cell of your body and mind. And meditation helps you end your chattering mind (for more details click here). Then panic attacks will be no more.
You can also think of something funny that happened in your life. Or try to divert your mind using pleasant images like beautiful scenery or garden.
Stop drinking tea, coffee and alcohol altogether.
Observe carefully what works for you. Note it down and use it next time.
This way you can prevent panic attacks. Despite it, if you can't relax, you must consult a psychiatrist. If you want to know more information, ZapAnxiety and How To Stop Your Anxiety Now books are very useful.
